NeuroAffective Touch Integration Groups
with Dr Kristi Foster
Some questions, successes, and experiments about using NeuroAffective Touch will likely find their way into your practice or training sessions. The Integration Groups are an opportunity to come together and share. These groups are a community opportunity, not a class requirement.
Integration Groups are informal gatherings where students get a chance to share and ask questions of one another. For example:
“How do you do a Body-Mind Dialogue with the belly?”
“My client asked me why they should breathe through their nose vs. their mouth, and I couldn’t remember what the difference was.”
“What do you say to your client to get them interested in trying this new intervention?”
And people share their successes, for example:
“I’m using contemplations for myself as a daily practice, and it’s getting so much easier for me to help guide clients into their bodies.”
Participants share concerns, questions, and ideas. In some groups, we’ve walked through someone leading a contemplation for the group so that everyone can see how others do it with a client―and gain confidence that we, as students, CAN do it even when we may not yet have tons of experience. We get to know each other in a new way and have fun!
We usually schedule 90 minutes and use what we need of that time.
