Foundation Training
The NeuroAffective Touch® training builds a vital bridge between our verbal and nonverbal selves to address the key elements of developmental deficits, emotional trauma, and attachment repair. NeuroAffective Touch is a somatic approach that integrates relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy with the therapeutic use of touch and somatic practices. Our approach transcends the limitations of talk therapy or body-centered work used separately and opens the way for post-trauma growth.
The training welcomes all professional practitioners who wish to integrate body and mind to resolve emotional and relational deficits and trauma. We invite and include psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, and pre-licensed interns; certified bodyworkers, massage, and body-centered practitioners; addiction counselors; nurses, acupuncturists, allopathic, naturopathic, and holistic doctors; movement and yoga practitioners; and coaches.

- Online Modules 1, 2, and 3 cover the theoretical somatic foundation and online techniques you need to connect to your clients’ and your own body and mind. We explore self-directed intentional touch, how to work online with virtual touch, and how to fine-tune your somatic resonance. We now know that, beyond working in person, touch intentions have a reach that defies time and space.
Each Module consists of 3 days of live-streamed lectures, demos, discussions, and breakout practices.
- In-person Module 4 is a five-day Touch Immersion during which we practice the touch protocols for the theory learned in the online Modules. This Touch Immersion fully anchors the healing power of the hands-on experience. This module will be held in Brentwood/Los Angeles. Dr. LaPierre will teach the entire Touch Immersion in person.
- Personal Development Requirements―Personal sessions and consultations are not included in the tuition
To complete the Foundation Training, we require six personal therapy sessions with an approved NATouch session provider and eight consultation credits―individual, small group, mentored hands, and closed mentorship groups.
These personal development sessions and consultations are with NATouch-approved practitioners and are not included in the tuition fee.

- Introductions and pod community building
- Orientation to the training
- Touch and body-mind integration theory

- Meet your body and mind. How anatomy, physiology, psychology, emotional-relational experiences, energy, and spirituality interface.
- Touch skills. Attuned, resonant touch for developmental needs, the three sensory touch systems, work with the sympathetic, parasympathetic, and interoceptive aspects of touch and its effects on the nervous system.
- Body-Mind Dialogues. Communication between our nonverbal and verbal selves is a vital link that resonant touch helps to bridge.
- Self-directed intentional touch. Because we increasingly work online, the hybrid training emphasizes self-directed, intentional touch protocols and self-care guidance.
- Personal somatic practice. We support you in establishing a personal Somatic Contemplation® practice for embodied awareness by offering an in-depth interoceptive and proprioceptive experience of your own body, helping you teach your clients how to work with their bodies.
- Demonstration sessions, live and recorded with real-time commentary.
- Breakout practices and Q&A.
- Meet your body and mind. How anatomy, physiology, psychology, emotional-relational experiences, energy, and spirituality interface.

- Online exchange practice sessions. 50 minutes + 10-minute debrief following Modules 1, 2, and 3, focusing on the material covered in the previous Module. You can choose your practice partner, or we will pair you with a partner.
- Exchange session Reflection. One page ― 500 words ― on your experience as the session giver and receiver.

- To clinically anchor theory and practice, Dr. LaPierre holds a Cohort Case Consultation following Modules 1, 2, and 3.
- These consultations are included in your tuition. Participants will automatically receive the Zoom link.
- You must attend these three Cohort Case Consultations to receive your Foundation Training Graduate Certificate. If you miss a Cohort Case Consult, it can be made up by attending an Individual, Small Group, or Mentored Hands Consultation for a fee.

A simple one-time payment. Receive 2 free half-day advanced trainings with Aline (pre-recorded or live) with our thanks for your payment in full. - 6-Month Plan – $783/month

Admission process:
- Application. We may request a short conversation with you to ensure the training is a good fit.
- Registration. Once your application is approved, you will receive a registration link.
- Tuition. Once your registration has been reviewed, you will receive the tuition link. Your place in the training is not reserved until we have received your tuition.
