Requirements
The NeuroAffective Touch® Training welcomes a variety of professional participants including psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, and pre-licensed interns and students in these fields, as well as certified bodywork, massage, and somatic practitioners, addiction counselors, nurses, health practitioners, and coaches who wish to integrate body and mind in the resolution of emotional trauma and relational deficits.
Anyone who wishes to integrate psychodynamic psychotherapy with hands-on touch interventions will find the training valuable.
Because NeuroAffective Touch® combines the use of psychotherapy and bodywork, you will find the training more accessible if you have some familiarity with the body and/or with a somatic modality. This is not, however, a requirement. Familiarity with the body can include knowledge of a variety of approaches such as bodywork, movement practice, body-based mindfulness, meditation, yoga, or energy work. Familiarity with somatic approaches can include, amongst many, such modalities as Reichian therapy, Bioenergetics, Bodynamic Analysis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy™ (SP), Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), Integral Somatic Psychotherapy™ (ISP™), or NARM.
Upon registering, please use the application form to describe your professional background.
Yes. Students who have taken other touch, bodywork, and somatic trainings report that they have found the integrative psychological, developmental, and relational body-oriented focus of the NeuroAffective Touch® Foundation Training to be unique and complementary to their acquired expertise.

In order to be eligible to assist in NATouch™ trainings, you must complete all the modules of the Foundation Training in person. If you are interested in becoming an assistant, please visit Becoming an Assistant.
