United States / Europe 2023
Foundation Training
The training welcomes all professional practitioners who wish to integrate body and mind to resolve emotional trauma and relational deficits. We invite and include psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, pre-licensed interns and students; certified bodyworkers, massage and body-centered practitioners; addiction counselors; nurses, acupuncturists, allopathic, naturopathic, and holistic doctors; movement and yoga practitioners; and coaches.
We offer a blended online/in-person training. Online, we cover the foundational theory and support students and clients in using self-directed touch to connect with their own bodies, use the screen to mirror touch positions and invite the power of somatic resonance to reach out via virtual touch. We now know that, beyond working in person, touch intentions have a reach that defies time and space.
European Time Accommodation
Because of the 9 to 10-hour time difference between the USA and Europe, we have a special arrangement with our European NeuroAffective Touch team.
All USA morning lectures are attended by both USA and European students together. Since the USA lunch break is in the late evening for the European students, they sign off and reconvene the following morning under the guidance of our European team to complete the USA previous afternoon’s teaching, which was recorded. The European teaching team supervises this segment and answers questions live online. Dr. LaPierre attends part of the European segment for group discussion.

- Touch skills and self-directed touch. Because therapists are now giving more sessions online, the training brings an enhanced focus to self-directed touch protocols and self-care guidance. We intend to support you in establishing a personal somatic contemplative practice by providing an in-depth interoceptive and proprioceptive experience of your own body that helps you teach your clients how to work with their bodies.

- Breakout practices and Q&A.

You can choose your practice partner, or our staff will pair you with a practice partner compatible with your time zone. If you have a dual relationship conflict with another attendee, please let our student advisor know at laura@neuroaffectivetouch.com
- Session reflection notes. One page ― 500 words ― on your experience as the practicer and receiver. Questions arising from your exchange sessions can be brought to the Cohort Case Consultations.

We offer ongoing Study Groups and Online and In-Person Small Group Consultations for graduates and current students who wish to further their expertise beyond the Foundation Training and qualify for the NeuroAffective Touch Practitioner Certification. Study Groups may be attended live or recorded. For confidentiality reasons, recordings of the Consultations are not available.
We will soon launch the NeuroAffective Touch Forum, where students and graduates can stay connected as a community. The Forum will include areas of specialization where practitioners with specific expertise can share, grow, and refine their somatic skills.

Registration is a two-step process:
1. A student application that lets us know you and ensures that the training is a good fit for you.
2. A tuition payment that secures your place in the training.
Evaluating your application is contingent on our receiving both your application and tuition payment. We may request a short conversation with you to ensure our training is a good fit. You will receive a final email confirmation of your acceptance into the training. If we assess that the training is not a good fit, you will receive a full refund.
